APFEI small grants
The Asia Pacific Forum on Educational Integrity is interested in fostering and sustaining a community of scholars interested in issues of educational integrity. To that end, it has set aside a small project fund to which members may apply to fund activities that further the goals of APFEI. This fund of AUD$1000 per year (AUD$500 each for 2 small grants) can be used to help fund any activity that has a clear connection to developing educational integrity: this might include funding workshops, guest speakers, resource development, conference registration or travel to events in the Asia Pacific region.
Round 1 APFEI grant 2011
The first grant has been awarded to Mr Garry Collins and Assoc/Professor Kate Wilson of the University of Canberra, for their project "Translation into Chinese of the University of Canberra's Academic Integrity Module". The APFEI grant will help with the English-Mandarin translation of this module for delivery to transnational teaching and learning contexts.
Round 2 APFEI grant 2011
The next APFEI small grant application is due 15th December 2011.
Conditions of application
- You are currently a postgraduate student, academic, or teacher in a recognised educational institution in the Asia-Pacific region
- At the time you apply for the APFEI grant you will be a financial member of APFEI (either as an individual or institutional representative)
- The activity for which you are seeking funds is clearly related to fostering academic and/or educational integrity.
- Non-members can be involved in projects, but the principal applicant of a grant must be a current member of APFEI (Note: check your institution’s membership to APFEI – you may be eligible if there are less than three registered members from your university, TAFE or school already. Alternatively, encourage your institution to join!).
Expectations of the successful applicant
The successful small grant applicants will be expected to write up a brief report of their activities, which will be profiled on the APFEI homepage.
How to Apply
- Complete the application form (download as a word document)
- Attach a recent curriculum vitae, highlighting any activities and publications relating to educational integrity
- Write a 500-word proposal in which you:
- describe why you should receive the APFEI grant and how it will be used;
- outline a provisional budget for the expenditure of the funds;
- explain the hoped for outcomes of the APFEI grant as it either promotes educational integrity, or fosters a network of scholars/practitioners and a community of practice in the field of educational integrity.
Judging the application
The APFEI grant applications will be considered by a sub-committee of representatives from the APFEI executive committee. The applications will be considered on two key grounds: eligibility and the possible impact of the proposal for fostering and sustaining a culture of educational integrity.
Notification
All applications will be considered by the APFEI committee and the successful project submission will be notified within 2 weeks of the due dates.
