Transnational/intercultural approaches
APFEI links a network of scholars who are interested in the impact that academic integrity has on issues of pedagogy, academic standards, equity and intercultural understanding. With the increase in transnational education opportunities for both teachers and students in the Asia Pacific region, it is important to ensure that there is a shared understanding of educational and academic integrity expectations, particularly between participating international students and institutions.
This research cluster is interested in exploring transnational and intercultural approaches to academic integrity. The current ALTC project is analysing Australian university policies and practices relating to academic integrity, but it would be interesting to broaden this to compare other national and cultural approaches to academic integrity, and how these approaches are reflected in a range of international university policies.
This research cluster is particularly interested in forming links with other universities in the the Asia Pacific region, in anticipation of developing projects that would attract grants and research and teaching exchange opportunities. If you are interested in contributing to such a network, or have a research proposal in mind, please contact Ruth Walker (rwalker@uow.edu.au).
